The Cambrian Queen was a 1336 ton Iron Barque
which was built by J Oswald & Co , Southhampton in 1868.
She was brought by Capt Thomas Williams of Criccieth and Liverpool as
part of the Cambrian Fleet in 1881.
In 1896 she was
sold to Captain William Thomas , Amlwch for use in his fleet. The image
above has been taken from an oil painting owned by Mr W O Jones, of
Menai Bridge, Anglesey. His Uncle, Richard H Thomas sailed in her
to New South Wales where this painting was done by a local artist called
Godfrey.
