| Amlwch is a small market town and sea port or creek, in the parish of it's name, which is rather extensive,in the hundred of twrcelyn, and the isle of Anglesey. 262 miles NW from London, 20 Nby W from bangor, the like distance from Holyhead and 18 NE from Beumaris. | The appearance of the country around, although not unpleasant holds forth but few inducements for the agriculturist of man of independence to settle here. The land is for the most part unproductive and does not afford the Husbnadman adequte renumeration for his toils in the field | Here are one church under the estblishmnet and three chapels. Belonging to the dissenters and a national school. The church is dedicated to st Eleth and is a rectory held by the Bisop of Bangor. The market day is Saturday and the population of the whole of the parish in 1821 was 5292 persons |
